National Day celebration

I had a comment from my fren that my blog is very boring, well, because there is no gossip and stuff. But just to let her know, I will still be writing on my trip, haha, don't think there will be any juicy stuff.(Don't mind me k,WM?)
Did not really have the chance to update my blog because the internet was down for a couple of days. The connection here is very unstable and we get disconnected all the time. Anyway, now that I have the internet, I must make use of this chance to update my blog.Firstly, we decided to celebrate National Day on Wednesday 9th of Aug by having steamboat. It was a very fun and high day. After work, we went to get the ingredients at the wet market. It was our first time as we were told that the stuff there is less hygenic but still decided to do so because it is cheap. After that we proceeded to Metro to buy a cake. Unfortunately, the baker left so we had to change our plan. We bought assorted ice cream instead, from cones to stick to machi. You name it, we bought it,haha.
When we went back home, I started cooking with one of my flatmate Eliza. Made the base with white cabbage and stuff, anyway, the food turned out good. The fun part wasn't the food , though it was excellent. We started getting high when we sang all the national songs that my fren downloaded from NDP website.(Couldn't watch NDP because connection is bad). We were soo crazy that we saluted to the national anthem and even recited the pladge. And how can we miss on the Kallang Wave and Singapore cheer. We were having soo much fun that our neighbours came to get us to lower our volume, haha, so you guys can tell how loud we were. That did not deter us from partying, we continued with other games till we were tired. And we ended the whole thing by having ice cream. The machi was heavenly, very smooth and refreshing.
Celebrating National Day abraod it a very new experience for me. Back in Singapore, it might be just any public holiday, but when you are abroad, it feels different. My frens got emtional , saying that it makes them miss home. On the other hand, National day made me reflect about my status as a Singaporean. Suddenly, I am proud of the little island that most pp neglect on the map. Guess only when you are away, you will appreciate things that you normally don't. It makes you look at things with a different perspective. Its like seeing light for the first time after being blind.
ANyway, was very happy last night because the internet came on at about 9pm. I manage to call my mum and Miss Ng. We talked till 1am in the morning. Really miss talking to them so was beaming when I knew that I could skype. Hope that everyone is doing fine back in S'pore.Have a nice day ahead.
